Be creative in finding a job or inventing other ways to produce income

Companies are hiring, and you need only ONE job. Focus on your own search, your own skills, and where the jobs ARE.

  • Good news: Jobseekers can learn about important differentiators to build confidence and customize/optimize the job search. Examples:

    - A targeted, expertly written and SEO’d resume;
    - Further expanding one’s online identity;
    - Uncovering hidden jobs;
    - Thorough interview preparation;
    - Research.

  • Good news: There are alternatives to full time employment to help bridge the gap for clients who need immediate income, e.g., freelancing, temp or contract work, entrepreneurial ventures with low startup costs (including direct selling), working from home/working remotely, online businesses (including eBay), turning a hobby into a business, e.g., music, art, crafts, woodworking, repair.

The special report is an unusual deliverable that can be a differentiator for you - as a jobseeker, employee or business owner. A special report is a brief, original report on a current topic that demonstrates your initiative as well as your expertise and creative/innovative thinking in an area that is relevant to your target.

It's "all about" the reader/your target, with a brief author bio at the end. Conversely, your resume is largely about you but of course does include/emphasize "WIIFT" - what's in it for them (the employer). Both have an important place in the job search.

  • Article by Jack Chapman - author of the excellent book, Negotiating Your Salary, How to Make $1,000 a Minute - that thoroughly explains and describes special reports and their uses. You can get ideas for creating your own special report(s) by looking at the many titles listed.
