If you've never picked up fast food at a drive-thru window, you may be from another planet. If so, give me a call: my clients and I would like to learn about the employment outlook there.
For those of us from Earth, the drive-thru can be frustrating and annoying. When the planets are aligned just right, a disembodied voice may, however, come through the scratchy speaker with a smile and with courtesy. The person connected to this friendly sound will likely remember to give you the strawberry jam you requested for your English muffin.
How many times have you complained to a manager about poor or unprofessional service? What about acknowledging good service?
Last week I pulled up to a fast food restaurant's squawk box and recognized the voice of a lone employee at that particular location who had delivered consistently professional service. I made up my mind to take time to commend this person when I reached the window.
